A multiple vehicle crash left at least five dead on the North Pan-American Highway, near La Gramita beach, in the province of Casma, Ancash region.
The Police indicated that the victims, not yet identified, belong to a family that was traveling in a minivan, which was completely destroyed after being trapped under a refrigerated truck that was transporting hydrobiological products.
Due to the impact, the truck’s load was scattered on the national highway. Police officers and ambulance personnel went to the scene, who carried out the rescue and recovery of the bodies.
Two trucks and a trailer carrying bags of cement were also involved in this accident.
The causes of this incident, which occurred on the eve of Christmas, are still the subject of investigation by the police authorities.
