Putin sends a message to Maduro: our unalterable solidarity with Venezuela

Strategic partnership with Russia strengthens Venezuela in the international arena

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, sent a greeting message to his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year, reaffirming Moscow’s unalterable solidarity with the Venezuelan people.

In the letter, Putin highlighted that the year 2025 has been “quite successful for Russian-Venezuelan relations,” underscoring the importance of strategic cooperation between both countries and the strengthening of bilateral ties.

The Russian president recalled the historic achievements achieved in the relationship between Caracas and Moscow, such as the signing of the Strategic Cooperation Treaty, and reiterated his willingness to continue working in close collaboration on issues on the international agenda.

Solidarity against external aggressions

Putin expressed his support for the Venezuelan people against the attacks and robberies perpetrated against ships Venezuelans on the country’s coasts by the United States, ensuring that Russia will continue to accompany Venezuela in the defense of its sovereignty and right to free trade.

The message was shared by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, who spread the letter on his social networks and highlighted Russia’s commitment to the stability and development of Venezuela.

Russia spoke out on the matter and firmly expressed its solidarity with Venezuela, ratifying its full support for the nation in the face of the hostilities perpetrated by the Trump Administration.

The Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, reported through his Telegram channel that he had a conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, in which both reviewed the flagrant aggressions and violations of international law that have been committed in the Caribbean, where the US has carried out attacks against ships and extrajudicial executions, in addition to the recent illicit acts of piracy.

After this event, Lavrov reiterated once again that Russia supports Venezuela in the defense of the peace zone of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) and international law, emphasizing that this type of aggression cannot be tolerated.

Expanding strategic alliance

The relationship between Russia and Venezuela has been consolidated in areas such as energy, defense and technological cooperation. In recent years, Moscow has supported Caracas in international forums and denounced coercive measures imposed against the South American nation.

Putin’s message reinforces the narrative of unity and cooperation between both countries, at a time when Venezuela seeks to expand its strategic alliances to face the economic and political challenges derived from external aggressions.
