After the possibility arose that the baby who was abandoned in a public transport bus in Santa Cruz could be Daylín, the little girl who disappeared in La Paz in December 2021, this Thursday the alleged mother of the girl appeared and assured that He abandoned her because he has no financial resources to feed himself. The IDIF will expedite the DNA test to confirm the relationship.
“The baby Daylín has nothing to do with the other baby with a similar name who was kidnapped three months ago in the city of La Paz,” said Police Lieutenant Jimmy Olmos.
The mother of the girl abandoned yesterday is a 16-year-old teenager, who appeared before the Santa Cruz Bus Terminal Police to confess the abandonment, reported Red Uno.
After giving her statement, the mother was taken to the Ombudsman’s Office with a police escort. She argued that she left the baby due to her lack of economic resources and because she also does not have a home to shelter her.

Lieutenant Olmos reported that the mother will undergo a psychological examination and will remain in the central office of the Ombudsman for Children.
He reported that the teenage mother lives in the town of Cuatro Cañadas and that he held her in the seat of a bus and then abandoned her in the Plan Tres Mil area.
Given the fact, the father of Daylín, the baby kidnapped in La Paz, traveled to Santa Cruz to participate in the DNA test that will be performed on the baby with the same name and appeared in the eastern capital.
IDIF will streamline DNA testing
The director of the Specialized Unit for Gender and Juvenile Crimes of the State Attorney General’s Office, Daniela Cáceres, reported this Thursday that the Institute of Forensic Investigations (IDIF) of La Paz will speed up the DNA test to determine if the baby found in a bus in the city of Santa Cruz is Daylin, the little girl kidnapped in December 2021.
“The Public Ministry has ordered, by the principle of unity, the collaboration of the prosecutors of the city of Santa Cruz so that they can carry out all the prompt and timely actions in a diligent manner so that today in the morning they proceed to take the samples of the baby found and carry out the corresponding tests in order to obtain a prompt and timely result to determine if it is the baby Daylin, since the IDIF has the high-tech equipment to carry out the genetic comparison tests”, Caceres declared.
The institute must deliver the results of the genetic study “within a period of approximately 10 days,” reads a press release sent by the State Attorney General’s Office.
