The Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) seized 22 packages containing plant remains of suspected drugs, called marijuana, weighing approximately 11,670 kilograms, while carrying out intelligence work and routine checks on vehicles disembarking from the La Restinga ferry, coming from Puerto la Cruz, Anzoátegui state.
On the Instagram account of the Ministry of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, it was revealed that during the inspection of the vehicle, damage could be noticed in the door covers, which alerted the officials who belong to the Anti-Drug Investigations Coordination of the Punta de Piedras Municipal Delegation.
In addition, he highlighted that during the procedure the vehicle in which the drugs were transported and two cell phones were also seized, considering that they constitute evidence of criminalistic interest. The detainees were placed under the command of the Fourth Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of the Judicial District of the state of Nueva Esparta, as contemplated in the Organic Law on Drugs.
These policies are part of the fight against illicit drug trafficking, maintained by the Revolutionary Government led by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, as part of the strengthening of security and citizen peace throughout the national territory.
