Foreign Minister Yván Gil considers that after Ambassador Samuel Moncada’s speech before the UN Security Council, it was demonstrated that no country in the world supports the use or threat of use of force, in violation of the UN Charter, to subjugate a free and sovereign nation under the false pretext of combating drug trafficking.
Through his social networks, the chancellor highlighted the participation of Ambassador Moncada within the Security Council at the United Nations, which he described as a “great victory” for the country.
«It became evident that the threat or use of force against Venezuela, in violation of the Peace Zone of Latin America and the Caribbean, responds to a colonial logic, promoted from Washington under the Monroe Doctrine. Likewise, piracy on the high seas used to appropriate Venezuela’s oil resources, which invariably belong to its people, was condemned,” he noted.

The Venezuelan ambassador to the UN, Samuel Moncada, warned about the emergency meeting requested by the country Security Councilthat the US government is a threat to the peace of the region.
«The world must know that the threat is not Venezuela, the threat is the current United States Government. “It’s not Venezuela, it’s the US,” he stressed after remembering that the US government is already claiming the largest oil reserve in the world as its own, openly declared by US President Donald Trump.
