Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Morena legislators asked the national leadership of their party to stop the early campaigns carried out by their coreligionists in the 17 states that will renew their governorships and where more than twenty cherry senators have expressed interest in reaching office or are qualified as possible candidates.
The most famous case of early promotion is that of Senator Andrea Chávez, who aspires to the government of Chihuahua. But he is not the only one. For this reason, Félix Salgado Macedonio demanded that the cherry leadership stop federal, state and municipal officials, as well as legislators from both chambers of Congress.
“There is a clear law. Advance campaigns must stop,” he said, referring to the fact that Morenista political leaders have dedicated themselves to shoring up their image, either by distributing propaganda with their face and name or by making graffiti, among other actions.
That is not correct, it is immoral, inequitable and carries many aggravating factors, added the senator from Guerrero, who said he was against nepotism, but also against imposition and allowing those types of actions that go against the legislation just because they are leaders.
“You cannot be a party leader and be a candidate for governor. It is not correct, it is not moral and it is not ethical. The law is the law and here we all swear to respect the Constitution and the laws that emanate from it,” he pointed out.
Regarding his aspirations for the governorship of Guerrero, Salgado explained that he will abide by the decision made by the political institute where he is active, regarding the nomination of the standard bearer.
This is given the few possibilities that he can be nominated for that position, due to the lock that Morena approved in its statutes, to prevent whoever occupies a popularly elected position from leaving a family member as his successor, and currently the one who is in charge of the state administration is his daughter Evelyn Salgado.
In an interview, he considered that this lock can be released, since he could go to the electoral court to be included in the survey that will measure the electoral preferences of the candidates, since otherwise it would be discriminatory and would violate his right to be voted for. But he assured that he is not going to go to jurisdictional institutions and he is not going to be alleging or changing parties.
“The Constitution is above a statute, but I am not going to go against a decision of our President of the Republic and Morena,” he stressed.
For his part, the senator of Sinaloa, Enrique Inzunza, explained that he would participate in the race for the gubernatorial candidacy if the party considers that it could be useful.
“I am where responsibility demands me. But you will not see me doing things that are not typical of party principles; carrying out advanced campaigns, having myself accompanied or seeking alliances with enemies of the movement”, as some candidates have done, he added.
You cannot seek power for power’s sake or at any price, only if it is in accordance with the principles of Morena and never with the enemies of the party, said the former magistrate.
It should be noted that last May, the Guaranteed National Council asked its militants to suspend any act that could be considered proselytizing; However, those interested in candidacy continue to walk the streets to promote themselves and resort to social networks to expand the dissemination of their image.
Also on that occasion, behavioral guidelines were issued, such as not using public resources, programs or private financing schemes. Despite this, there are those who insist on continuing to bring health services to their localities, and on distributing various goods, such as water tanks and sheets, although they do not make express calls to vote for them.
The argument for continuing this practice is that this regulation limits their freedom of action in a competitive political environment.
