The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) banned this Tuesday (23) the sale and advertising of all medicines from the Bwell and Needs brands, controlled by the RD Saúde group, the same controller of the Raia and Drogasil drugstores.
Products cannot be sold in stores, on websites or by third parties.
According to the regulatory agency, the company does not have authorization to produce medicines.
Anvisa’s determination only applies to medicines. Brands produce other items, such as hygiene and beauty. These continue to be sold normally.
In a note sent to the Poder360 website, RD Saúde informed that “it is not an industry and does not produce medicines”, and will appeal the decision.
“Medications under the Bwell and Needs brands are produced by pharmaceutical companies duly licensed and authorized by Anvisa, strictly following the applicable regulatory standards. The products of both brands are duly registered with the regulatory agency. The company will detail its procedures in an administrative appeal to be presented to Anvisa”, he states….
