This growth responds to the consolidation of Punta Cana as the main tourist destination of the Caribbean, as well as the sustained development of hotel sector and to the diversification of the tourist offer, the company stated in a press release.
In particular, the expansion of emerging poles as micheswhere more than 2,000 new hotel rooms have been added this year, driving greater demand for air transportation, which has motivated airlines to increase frequencies and develop new routes to the region.

New air routes

The Dominican airline Arajet announced this Monday the launch of its new direct route between Punta Cana and the city of Mendoza in Argentina, which will begin operations on May 16, 2026 with three weekly frequencies on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
With this announcement, Mendoza becomes the fourth Argentine city where Arajet establishes direct flights in Argentina, expanding the air connectivity of the South American country and enriching the network of more than 28 destinations and 15 countries that the airline has today.
