President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sanctioned the law that reorganizes the career of the judicial police in the Judiciary. The rule transfers these employees from the administrative area to specialized support, redefines job titles and adjusts rules on bonuses and carrying weapons.
The text was published in Official Gazette of the Union last Friday (19)
With the changes, institutional police activities become part of the specialized support area. Judicial technicians who carry out these duties are now called judicial police agents, while analysts are called judicial police inspectors.
The text also ensures that judicial police officers carry firearms, whether privately owned or provided by the institution.. For this, institutional size, proof of technical capacity and psychological aptitude are required, in addition to the effective exercise of the function, in accordance with the rules set out in the Disarmament Statute and specific regulations.
Another change is the expansion of the scope of the Security Activity Bonus (GAS). The bonus may be paid to employees who perform institutional security duties even when they are assigned to a commissioned role or commissioned position, as long as they are assigned to security units of the Judiciary.
