Between January and October of this year, the mining exports They grew 25.3% compared to the same period in 2024, and totaled US$48.8 billion, reported the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE).
During the analysis period, copper shipments amounted to US$22,466 million, which meant an increase of 18.3%, representing 46% of the total. Meanwhile, foreign sales of gold reached US$17,971 million, that is, 43.2% more than the same months of 2024.
The union also highlighted that mining exports explained 66% of Peru’s sales abroad during the first 10 months of this year.
OCTOBER RESULTS
On the other hand, the SNMPE detailed that, in October alone, Peruvian mining exports reached US$6,497 million, which reflected a growth of 68.1% compared to the same month of 2024 (US$3,864 million).
In the case of copper, sales amounted to US$3,107 million, which meant an increase of 81.4%. This result was explained by the growth in the price of the metal by 28.9%, and also by the increase in volume by 40.7%.
On the other hand, he commented that gold exports reached US$2,227 million, which grew 47.1%. In this case, the price rose by 50.8%, while the volume registered a drop of 2.4%.
