When Kast took office as president of Chile, the Presidency claims that José Jerí had a telephone communication with José Antonio Kast, after learning that he won the elections in the second round in Chile. In the communication between both authorities, the Peruvian president made the invitation to hold a binational cabinet during the second two months of next year.
“He President José Jerí congratulated the president-elect of Chile by telephone, José Antonio Kastfor his victory in the second electoral round, and wished him the greatest success in his next administration”, begins the message on the Presidency networks. They also highlight that during the call the bilateral relationship was developed, which is based on political and economic coincidences.
At another time, they stated that between Jerí and Kast “natural coincidences” were evident. José Antonio Kast was the far-right candidate in Chile and in his message after winning the elections, he maintained that he would rid his country of crime. In recent weeks he was emphatic in his anti-immigration policy and warned “irregular” migrants that they must leave Chilean territory.
“Likewise, natural coincidences were evident between both leaders, especially in the need to jointly confront criminality and transnational crime,” the Presidency points out.
