According to the IEEPCO, valid signatures were distributed in 569 of the 570 municipalities of Oaxaca, therefore the territorial dispersion requirement required by the Mandate Revocation Law was met. Only in the municipality of San Juan Tabaá no support was registered.

Governor Jara celebrated the validation through his social networks, highlighting that this exercise strengthens democracy and citizen participation. “With these types of exercises, the people win and democracy is strengthened,” he stated.
From the beginning of his mandate, Jara promoted the revocation of mandate as a democratic mechanism that allows citizens to decide whether to continue leading the government. The consultation will be carried out to evaluate his permanence in office at the beginning of his third year of administration.

Morenoist senator Antonino Morales also celebrated the validation and highlighted that Oaxaca becomes a national pioneer in participatory democracy processes. “This is a triumph of our democracy and the civic maturity of Oaxacans,” he said.
Last November, the National Action Party (PAN) proposed including all governors in the mandate revocation consultation in 2027. In this regard, President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that this is a decision that not only depends on the state leaders, but also on the local constitutions.
“It depends on the governors and the constitutions of each state of the Republic, each entity would have to define it. We define what has to do with the presidency, since each state, who elects the governors? Well, the people of each state or Mexico City define if there should be a revocation in the case of the governor,” he explained then.
