Santo Domingo.-The Attorney General of the Republic, Yeni Berenice Reynosoheld a meeting with the United States ambassador, Leah Francis Camposin which they addressed the bilateral security cooperation projects that both countries are developing.
During the meeting, Reynoso highlighted that the Dominican Republic and the United States maintain a joint agenda on issues that directly affect hemispheric security, such as the fight against drug trafficking, money laundering and other manifestations of organized crime.
Technical support and inter-institutional coordination
The attorney general valued the cooperation of the US Government, which is materialized through the constant exchange of strategic information through the Office of Anti-Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

He indicated that this permanent coordination strengthens and makes more efficient the work carried out by Dominican institutions such as the Public Ministry and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), together with other security and intelligence agencies of the State, in favor of citizen security.
Reynoso also recalled that the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) receives technical support from the United States Government in different projects executed through the INL, including the Joint Task Force Against Organized Crimeas well as initiatives aimed at specialized training and access to the latest generation equipment.
“We appreciate the willingness of Ambassador Campos, who has expressed her government’s interest in continuing to support our country with training that allows us to be more effective in the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime,” said the attorney general.
Institutional meeting
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Attorney General’s Office and was attended by the deputy attorney general. Wilson Camachohead of the General Directorate of Prosecution of the Public Ministry, among other officials.
Ambassador Campos was accompanied by Rebecca Márquez, Kaleb Sanderson and Enrique Corral.
