Ana emphasizes that the wait becomes more difficult for the affected residents as the months go by while they demand a solution from the city government.

“They bring us back and forth, 15 days, 20 days, we are going to complete four months with rain, cold, everything, we have already had two deaths of two neighbors and we are waiting for them to give us an answer,” he says.

The Head of Government, Clara Brugada, announced that they are working on a protocol and legislative reforms to avoid violence and abuses in carrying out evictions in Mexico City.

“We are going to mediate until the eviction is exhausted as a last resort. We did not like at all what happened with the eviction of the Republic of Cuba,” said the president on August 29 during a press conference.

One of the elements provided for in the protocol is that the Judiciary not only requests the support of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) to carry out the eviction, but that the capital’s Government be informed about the legal process and verify that residents have received prior notices.
