Daniel Ortega together with his "companion" Dante Mossi will inaugurate the CABEI headquarters in Managua this afternoon

Rosario Murillo, spokeswoman for the Nicaraguan regime, reported that this Tuesday afternoon, March 15, the dictator Daniel Ortega together with the president of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dante Mossi, will inaugurate the headquarters of the international financial organization in Managua .

In his meridian intervention in his official media, Murillo explained that “this afternoon our commander Daniel (Ortega) will hold a meeting as we reported yesterday (Monday, February 14) with Dr. Dante Mossi who visits us to inaugurate the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) building In our country”.

In addition, he indicated that they will be meeting with Mossi’s work team, whom he calls a partner, “conversing, attending and thanking CABEI’s installation in our country that precisely strengthens the ties, the link, the links between the Central American region through the financing that makes possible the development of so many projects, especially when that financing is received and applied with integrity and efficiency, with dedication and dedication to the people.

CABEI’s president confirmed his arrival in Nicaraguan territory, through his account Twitter. «On mission to Nicaragua to meet with government authorities, discuss the economic reactivation agenda and the opening of our new office CABEI in Managua,” he wrote.

The inauguration of the CABEI headquarters in Managua was scheduled for December 15, 2021, however, weeks before it was suspended due to the decision of 10 of the member countries, except Honduras and Nicaragua. Among those who voted for its suspension was Taiwan, a country with which days later the dictatorship broke diplomatic relations to establish them with China.

In October 2019, the work began. CABEI’s Executive President, Dante Mossi, and the Minister of Finance and Public Credit (MHCP), Iván Acosta, were present at that act. The project, valued at 16.5 million dollarswas scheduled to finish at the end of 2020.

The inauguration scheduled for December would have been suspended due to the pressure exerted by the international community and opponents abroad who wanted “the inconvenience of the state of democratic exception that Nicaragua is experiencing to be mentioned,” but given that some countries required consultations to endorse that wording, the situation was implicit.

The Nicaraguan opposition has accused CABEI of financing the Daniel Ortega dictatorship, however, Mossi has defended the huge disbursements stating that they are projects for the citizens. Despite international complaints, the agency has not stopped disbursements to the Nicaraguan administration.
