2-1: Estudiantes also lift the Champions Trophy

Students of La Plata conquered this Saturday the Champions Trophy after winning 2-1 against Platense in the last final of the Argentine soccer season and added his second crown in a week. With a double from Lucas Alario (m.79 and m.90), Pincharrata turned around a result that had had Calamar with an initial advantage thanks to the goal scored by Franco Zapiola (m.50), in a match played at the Estadio Único de San Nicolás.

In this way, the match that pitted the champion of the Clausura Tournament ( Estudiantes ) and the Apertura Tournament ( Platense ) was left to the former, who last Saturday won the title after defeating Racing Club on penalties in Santiago del Estero. Estudiantes, who qualified for the 2026 Copa Libertadores on Saturday, thus achieved their fifth title out of seven finals played under the guidance of Eduardo Domínguez, and added their twelfth championship at the local level, which adds to their six international crowns.

With this achievement, Estudiantes also achieved qualification to compete for three more titles in 2026: the Argentine Super Cup against Independiente Rivadavia, the International Super Cup against Rosario Central and the Champions Cup Winners’ Cup against these same two rivals.
