AGU charges more R$ 135 million in court linked to INSS deviations

INSS: biometric registration will be mandatory for new benefits

The Federal Attorney General’s Office (AGU) reported this Saturday (20) that it had filed another batch of regressive actions before the start of the end-of-year judicial recess to collect R$135 million from associative entities involved with fraudulent discounts on pensions from the National Social Security Institute (INSS).AGU charges more R$ 135 million in court linked to INSS deviations

According to the body, this is the last batch of actions to demand that associations of retirees and pensioners involved in fraud return to the public coffers the money that the INSS has already returned to injured retirees.

A third batch had already been registered in December. As a result, the total number of precautionary actions reached 37, totaling R$6.6 billion in requests to block the assets of individuals and legal entities.

Of this total, the Court has already agreed to block R$4.4 billion, but only R$514 million has been found so far, including balances in accounts, 17 properties and 76 vehicles.

The INSS, in turn, has had to disburse R$2.74 billion to date to reimburse more than 4 million beneficiaries who reported that discounts on their retirement or pensions were made without authorization or with fraudulent authorization.
