- With more than 10 social programs, works and actions, the State managed to lift 340 thousand people from Potosí and Potosí out of poverty in four years, confirmed the INEGI.
San Luis Potosí consolidated unlimited social progress and the works, actions and social programs promoted by the Government of Ricardo Gallardo Cardona have lifted 340 thousand people from Potosí and Potosí from the four regions of the State out of poverty, according to the 2024 multidimensional poverty measurement of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The State President highlighted that this result is the product of more than 10 strategic social programs that include free land, food support, school supplies, scholarships, pensions, free transportation, medical insurance for students and health care, which have allowed thousands of families to strengthen their economy and improve their quality of life in the four regions.
Ricardo Gallardo stated that in 2026 social programs will be strengthened and expanded to benefit more families after recognizing that change will continue and development will reach every corner of the State to continue building a San Luis Potosí where no one is left behind.
Finally, he announced that, in four years, San Luis Potosí almost doubled its investment in the fight against poverty, compared to the previous four years, reaching 49,866 million pesos between 2021 and 2025, compared to 24,317 million pesos between 2015 and 2019, which confirms attention to families after decades of abandoning the cursed inheritance.
