Christmas is celebrated in Paloquemao with novenas, tradition and gastronomy

The Paloquemao Market Square becomes a scene of family gathering during the Christmas season, by joining the celebration of the traditional novenas especially aimed at children.

The initiative seeks to integrate children of merchants, workers and regular customers of the place. The administrator of the plaza, Kelly Sastoquehighlighted that every year Paloquemao joins the Christmas celebration with activities designed to strengthen community ties.

“The market square joins this beautiful time of the year, which is sharing with family, living the Christmas season, which is a very special time for us Colombians. In this novena we try to pamper the youngest children, the children of our merchants and our clients, so that they can live a pleasant moment here in the market square,” said Sastoque.

Bring joy to children

The novenas, performed in a family atmosphereare focused on providing children with a space for joy and recreationespecially the little ones. The day includes recreational activities and moments of integration that allow families to experience the Christmas tradition in a different environment than usual.

Solidarity with vulnerable minors

The next December 23 Gifts will also be delivered to the children. This year, the plaza hosted 50 minors in vulnerable conditions belonging to a foundation in the town of The Martyrsas part of a solidarity gesture that seeks to bring a message of hope during Christmas.

“We gave the gifts to the children. This year the square welcomed fifty vulnerable children from a foundation in the town of Los Mártires and we want to share with our merchants a detail for these children who do not have so many possibilities,” he explained.

Christmas gastronomy

In addition to the social component, the gastronomy has a leading role. During the season, Paloquemao exalts the traditional flavors of the Colombian Christmaslike the ajiacothe custardthe fritters and the tamales.

The plaza offers both prepared dishes and a wide variety of inputs for those who prefer to cook at home, highlighting the cultural value of typical cuisine and the act of share food with family.

During the days, several families chose to buy the complete ingredients of the ajiaco to prepare the traditional recipe at home.

With these actions, the Paloquemao Market Square reaffirms that Christmas traditions are also strengthened from the popular spaces of the city, where solidarity and the family They are still protagonists.
