The US measure prohibits US individuals or companies from making transactions with the sanctioned people, related to Cilia Flores, in addition to freezing any assets or properties they may have in the North American country.
The United States (USA) announced new sanctions against seven people from the family and entourage of Nicolás Maduro, as part of its efforts to dismantle what it described as a “narco-corruption” network that supports the ruling party.
The measure, announced through the Office of Foreign Assets Control, specifically targets direct relatives of Carlos Erik Malpica Flores, nephew of Cilia Flores, and people close to Panamanian businessman Ramón Carretero Napolitano, both linked to financial operations with the Maduro Executive.
Malpica Flores’ relatives include her mother and Cilia Flores’ sister, Eloisa Flores de Malpica, her father, Carlos Evelio Malpica Torrealba, and her sister, Iriamni Malpica Flores.

Also Damaris del Carmen Hurtado Pérez and her adult daughter, Erica Patricia Malpica Hurtado.
In total, the US sanctioned seven people, whom it accuses of being responsible or complicit in “corrupt transactions” within the government or public programs or projects, according to OFAC in a statement.
