Four officials killed in ambush in Aragua

A violent ambush recorded on the afternoon of this Friday, December 19, in the Turagua sector of Santa Cruz de Aragua, left four officials murdered, a situation that is being investigated by the entity’s authorities.

According to preliminary information, the ambush occurred when a convoy of the Bolivarian National Police and members of the National Guard were returning from escorting a truck, being intercepted by at least six heavily armed individuals, who opened fire on the officials.

In the attack, Captain (FANB) Andrés Bisamón León, Commander of the Packing Company of the 42nd Parachute Brigade, lost their lives; A. Caraballo C, member of the Professional Troop, and two officials of the Bolivarian National Police Corps identified as First Officer (CPNB) José Gregorio Landaeta Torres, who died at the scene, and Inspector (CPNB) Enrique Ávila, head of operations of the Municipal Station of the José Ángel Lamas municipality, who died minutes after his admission to the Central Hospital of Maracay.

The attackers fled after the shooting, while a military and police deployment is carried out in the area to find the antisocials.
