Minister Luiz Fux, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), decided this Friday (19) to suspend part of the Ministry of Finance rule that prevents the registration of beneficiaries of social programs on electronic betting sites, known as bets.
The minister responded to the preliminary request from the National Gaming and Lottery Association and ordered the unblocking of active accounts and the reactivation of accounts that were closed after the publication of the rule, which prohibited the registration of Bolsa Família and Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) beneficiaries on the platforms.
“Considering the imminent forensic recess and the risk of irreversibility of specific acts carried out under the auspices of the aforementioned normative acts, I partially grant the precautionary request”, decided the minister.
With the measure, the ban continues to apply only to new registrations or opening new accounts.
The minister scheduled a conciliation hearing for February 10, 2026.
