What cars will not be able to circulate?

According to him official calendar the restriction will be in force from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will apply to vehicles with:

-Blue gummed

-9 or 0 plate termination

-Hologram 1 or 2

If your car falls into any of these categories, it is wisest to leave it at home and opt for alternatives such as public transportation, bicycle, electric motorcycle, or ride-sharing services.

The restriction applies to vehicles with blue stickers, license plate termination 9 or 0 and hologram 1 or 2.

What cars are exempt?

They are outside the measure:

-Vehicles with hologram 0 or 00

-Electric or hybrid cars

-Vehicles with hologram 1 or 2, as long as they do not have blue stickers or ending 9 or 0

If your car belongs to one of these groups, you can drive without restrictions.

Will there be a Double Not Circulating Today?

No. This Friday there is no environmental contingency, so the measure operates regularly, without additional restrictions or extensions to the program.

Where does it apply?

Hoy No Circula remains in force in the 16 municipalities of CDMX and in 18 suburban municipalities of the State of Mexico:

Atizapan of Zaragoza
Coacalco
Cuautitlán Izcalli
Chalco
Chimalhuacan
Chicoloapan
Ecatepec
Huixquilucan
Ixtapaluca
Peace
Naucalpan
Nezahualcoyotl
Nicolas Romero
Tecámac
Tlalnepantla
Tultitlan
Chalco Valley Solidarity

In addition, from July 1, 2025, the program also operates in the metropolitan areas of Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco, from Monday to Saturday, for vehicles with hologram 1 and 2. In these regions, fines will begin to apply until January 2026.

How much is the fine?

Driving without respecting the restriction can cost you between 20 and 30 Measurement and Update Units (UMA). In 2025, each UMA is equivalent to 113.14 pesos, so the penalty is:

-2,262 pesos (minimum)

-3,394 pesos (maximum)

The exact amount will depend on the criteria of the authority that carried out the violation.

Tips to avoid sanctions

Always check the official program calendar before leaving.

Check the daily air quality report, especially if you depend on your car.

Plan your routes in advance.

Check the sticker, hologram and license plate finish of your vehicle.

Complying with Hoy No Circula not only avoids a fine, it also contributes to improving air quality in the Valley of Mexico and taking care of the health of those of us who live in the region.
