
Users on social networks and digital media reported this Thursday a strong electrical fluctuation that caused voltage drops and momentary power outages in Caracas and vseveral states of the country.
According to the first reports, the situation occurred around 3:07 pm, affecting electrical service and causing blackouts in parts of the capital and other regions.
These incidents add to a routine of electrical failures that have marked 2025 in Venezuela. Power outages and intermittent service outages are reported frequently per citizens and organizations, and where the deterioration of electrical infrastructure has been pointed out as a key factor.
To date, no official statement has been issued by Corpoelec or any other government entity regarding the specific causes of the fluctuations in this December 18 nor about service restoration times.
