“Venezuelans are passionate about defending our territory. We have history, people, rights and dignity to respond (…) The homeland is not negotiated and Venezuela is not anyone’s prize or loot!”, expressed, forcefully, the deputy of the National Assembly (AN), Nicolás Maduro Guerra, by participating in a new call of the National Council of Sovereignty and Peace, which brought together various sectors of Venezuelan life in Caracas.
“Venezuela is the only nation in universal history that left its borders with its army to liberate,” recalled the parliamentarian, repudiating the recent crazy attempts by the US imperial government to unusual justify its desire to plunder.
“We reject the attempt to impose a model that, for them, it seems, they will believe is a model; we do not intervene in the model that the people of the United States want for them,” compared the young deputy.
He commented that, then, the United States Government cannot impose its interests on Venezuela and respect the fact that the Bolivarian people decide their own model to develop the future in democracy and freedom.
“I believe that Venezuela and the people of the United States are not condemned to be enemies,” he stated to those present in his brief speech, and maintained that the Bolivarian nation is a participant in dialogue and peace in all scenarios.
“This table today must condense, here, all the national force in favor of peace and dialogue and I like it a lot, but at this moment it is threatening the most powerful army in the world and it is not to be taken as a game. We have to manage to convert national indignation into a productive force that continues to advance the country,” he argued.
Advance in the Sovereignty and Peace Council
He urged to maintain the progress of the Peace Council to consolidate the proposals of resistance to imperial interventions. He gave an example of this resistance of living almost a decade of overcoming imposed difficulties that was recorded in Venezuela. “Our resistance in Venezuela, thank God, was not about locking ourselves in a cave; we have resisted blockades, sanctions, attempts to keep our resources, and the Venezuelan business community is worthy of a gold medal, because despite the sanction and the blockade that it has been a victim of, it has also resisted, and the numbers prove it this year.”
Likewise, he cataloged this positive economic growth as a reflection of that work that must continue in the face of enemy imperial threats. “That must be it, to close the role of this table, and the role that we owe as economists, industrialists, teachers, cultists, environmentalists, religious people, to cultivate and harvest: active resistance and that, no matter what happens, in the face of any circumstance, the country must go towards a destiny of glory in the face of aggression, in heroic resistance.”
