French tour operators reiterate interest in Cuba as a destination

For us, Cuba represents an absolutely fantastic destination, and we work hard to return after two years of global impact from the Covid-19 pandemic, from which of course the island did not escape, the general director of the Le Vacon group told Prensa Latina. Julien Hamon.

In this sense, he highlighted that several groups of travelers are already confirmed to visit the largest of the Antilles in the coming months with the company Voyages Internationaux, specialized in circuits, one of the preferred modalities of the French.

We see encouraging signs in the recovery of an attractive market for its authenticity, beauty and human warmth, which guarantees excellent vacations, he said.

The director of Havanatour Paris, Grettel López, also pointed out that since the reactivation of tourism in Cuba, last November, sales are gradually returning, although she predicted the definitive takeoff for the next season, which will last from November of this year to April 2023, with a previous peak in the summer.

We have been specialists in the Cuba destination for 40 years, and we appreciate the preference of clients for à la carte trips, that is, tailor-made trips, with the interest of discovering beyond the sun and the beach, getting closer to culture, history and the idiosyncrasy of the Caribbean country, he commented.

For her part, the general director of the Sol Latino tour operator, Katia Darchy, considered that the recovery of the market will be gradual, after the global effects caused by the pandemic.

Since November we began to operate, informing travel agencies and clients, and I think we are living the moment to convince them that they can now return to a country that preserves its great qualities due to its human, cultural and natural wealth, he told Prensa Latina .

According to Darchy, the island constitutes a privileged destination, based on its security, both physical and health, the welcoming environment and its indisputable beauty.

The French are enchanted by the culture, the warmth offered by the people and the hospitality of a people always ready to receive them and share what they have, despite economic difficulties, he said.

Hamon, López and Darchy participated last night in an evening at the Cuban embassy in France, where they received an update on the news of the reactivation of tourism in the Antillean nation.

The embassy’s Minister of Tourism, Diana Rosa González, provided details of the work carried out during the two years of the pandemic to improve the hotel infrastructure and the quality of service, in areas such as Internet access, restaurants and swimming pools.

Likewise, he called on French tour operators to participate in the FITCuba 2022 International Tourism Fair, which will be held from May 3 to 7 in the world-famous resort of Varadero.
