What the Mayor's Office does in the Mercado de los Mina

The Mayor of Santo Domingo East and merchants the Los Mina market managed to improve hygiene and cleaning of that supply center, which for years was kept in conditions of deplorable neglect.

The one in charge of Commercial management of the Mayor’s Office, Miguelina de Castrotoured the facilities and confirmed the cleaning and the order in which the products are sold and attributed the situation to the campaign called: “The Los Mina MarketCleaner than ever”.

He explained that not only are there better hygiene conditions, but security has also been increased so that people can purchase their products in peace of mind.

“So we invite all municipalities to visit the market so that they can purchase their basic necessities in a place that suits them, that they feel comfortable and safe because we also have a very good security team,” he said.

De Castro said that since the mayor Manuel Jimenez reached the Mayor’s Office has maintained the cleaning at market which had grown disorganized for more than 30 years. The municipal official announced that they are in a process to build a new work, a market more modern, but that it is a project in which the central government will intervene.
