He Public Ministry advanced in his accusation against two people whom he is pursuing for allegedly defrauding 192 people out of 124 million pesos to whom accuse of allegedly presenting a scheme of profitable, safe investments supported by supposed stock market experts.
He Sixth Court of the Instruction dictated opening car to judgment against Gabriel Emilio Caceres Araujo and Kristie Marie Cabral Romero, indicated by the Public Ministry as those responsible for an alleged financial network that operated under the façade of the company Pipschasers Capital, SRL
According to the file, the accused presented themselves as stockbrokers or representatives of investment funds, although they lacked legal authorization to operate in the securities market. With that profile, they raised money from the public through contracts that promised high yieldsbut that they omitted key information about the real destination of the funds.
The accusation details that the scheme was not improvised. Authorities identified a transfer pattern bank transfers between accounts in the name of the accused or under their direct control, movements designed to fragment resources and make them difficult to trace. Part of the money, hold the Public Ministrywould have been diverted for personal purposes.
Economic damage
The total amount allegedly defrauded amounts to RD$124,575,700.00, a figure that summarizes the scope of the economic damage caused to the victims, many of whom trusted their savings to the promise of financial stability.
- After evaluating the evidence presented by the court attorney Lewina Tavarez Gilhead of the National Directorate of Investigation of Financial Crimes, and the inspector Margaret Cabrera Morillo, Judge Yanibet Rivas ordered that both defendants face judgment by association of criminals, scam aggravated, abuse of trust, violation of the Securities Market Law and money laundering.
