At the beginning of 2014 it was announced that the businessman became the largest individual shareholder of Carrix with the purchase of 49% of the shares of FRS Capital Corp, the company of which the port operator SSA Marine is a part, which in turn has its subsidiary SAA Marine México. It is one of the most influential port terminal firms in the country with operations in Manzanillo, Cozumel, Lázaro Cárdenas, Veracruz, Progreso and Tuxpan, with important movements in containers, vehicles and cruise ships.
According to the biography published by the companies in which he participates, Fernando Chico Pardo began his career on Wall Street and later founded Acciones y Asesoría Bursátil in 1982, a brokerage house of which he was a founding partner and general director until 1992, when it merged with Inbursa, the institution of which he was CEO until 1997.
In that same year he founded Promecap, a private equity firm that manages assets for 5,000 million dollars, of which he is president and CEO, in addition to currently being the controlling shareholder of RLH Properties and Tortuga, in the hotel sector. Together, the firms in which it participates manage 9,000 rooms in the all-inclusive luxury segment and 3,000 in the ultra-luxury segment, in alliance with brands such as Four Seasons, One and Only, Rosewood and Hyatt.
