A heavy machinery operator was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the crime against sexual freedom against a minor under 14 years of age, in a case that occurred in the city of Huancayo.

The sentenced person was identified as Kevin Villavicencio Mejía (26). According to the investigation, the subject would have contacted the teenager through social networks in 2022, managing to gain her trust and then exert pressure and threats, taking advantage of her vulnerability.
According to the court ruling, the events were recorded on two occasions, and were subsequently reported by the minor’s mother to the El Tambo police station, which allowed the corresponding investigations to begin.

After evaluating the evidence presented during the process, the court determined the criminal responsibility of the accused and ordered, in addition to the sentence, the payment of S/ 10 thousand as civil reparation in favor of the victim. The sentenced person must serve the sentence in a penitentiary establishment, in accordance with the law.
