The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, called this Tuesday on the working class to join forces to organize massive protests against the acts of piracy carried out by the United States government in the Caribbean, to appropriate Venezuelan resources after the looting of an oil shipment on a tanker.
“Workers must activate themselves to organize protests against the piracy of those who believe they have a license to steal resources,” asked the president in the first plenary session of the Constituent Congress of the Working Class, held in Caracas.
He added that soon “there will be millions in this world telling imperialism no to piracy, no to the looting of oil… the whole world says “no war, yes peace.”
He indicated that the working class must “fine-tune our coordinated action as a homeland. We tell the people of the United States our truth and our truth is that what the Nazi-fascist right wants is to colonize Venezuela to take over the wealth we have in oil, gas, gold, aluminum and others.”
He recalled that by constitutional mandate, all Venezuelans “have an absolute oath to defend our homeland and that peace always reigns in Venezuela.”
For this reason, he called on the oil working class to, through the International Constituent Commission, defend in international union organizations the truth of Venezuela, as well as the right to freedom of trade of the country’s main export product, against the American piracy that seeks to impose once again the patent of marque in the world.
