The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged this Tuesday the Minister for the Social Process of Labor, Eduardo Piñate, and the Militant General Staff of the Working Class to hold an immediate meeting this Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in order to review and refine the combat plan of the combatant bodies throughout the national territory.
“I want you to meet tomorrow and review factory by factory, state by state and region by region, the entire combat plan of the fighting bodies of the working class,” the president instructed during a meeting with the Congress of the Workers’ Constituent.
Maduro stressed that this review is part of the strengthening of the national defensive structure, articulated between the Fanb and the organized working class.
Almost a million militia workers in workplaces
The head of state reported that the combatant bodies established by the Fanb Constitutional Law have expanded “practically throughout the country’s economic structure,” integrating workers into their own workplaces.
“Today we have almost a million militiamen and militiamen of the fighting bodies of the working class, organized in their workplaces,” he stated.
Maduro pointed out that this force constitutes a key component of the Comprehensive National Defensive Plan of the Homeland aimed at guaranteeing the protection of strategic facilities and the active participation of the productive sector in national defense.
The Workers Constituent and the role of the combatant bodies
The Congress of the Workers’ Constituent takes place at a time when the Venezuelan Government is promoting the reorganization of the working class to strengthen its participation in productive, social and defensive areas.
The combatant bodies are units made up of workers in public and private companies, created under the Constitutional Law of the Fanb to support tasks of protection, prevention and territorial defense.
In recent years, the Executive has insisted that the coordination between the Fanb, the Bolivarian Militia and the working class is essential to face external threats, protect the economic infrastructure and consolidate a comprehensive security model.
