In Caracas they march for sovereignty and peace

Hundreds of Caracas residents mobilized yesterday from the vicinity of the Supreme Court of Justice to the headquarters of the National Assembly in the great march for popular unity, the transition to socialism and the defense of national sovereignty. In the massive nighttime mobilization, the militants, sympathizers and people in general celebrated the 19 years of creation of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela by Commander Hugo Chávez and the 26 years of the approval of the National Constitution.

The protest is a direct response of the people to the aggressions that the country is experiencing from the “North American empire,” as emphasized by the Secretary of Mobilization of the PSUV, Nahum Fernández.

“Citizens take to the streets to defend territorial integrity and national unity, ratifying their rejection of foreign interference,” he noted.

Fernández also announced that this week various marches will be held throughout the territory on the occasion of important national commemorations.
This demonstration is the continuity of a series of popular demands made in rejection of the interference of the United States Government and condemning its “acts of piracy carried out to steal Venezuelan oil.”
