Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) and the Fundação Nacional de Arte (Funarte), an agency linked to the Ministry of Culture (MinC), will be partners to carry out arts dissemination projects. The cooperation term, valid for one year, was announced in Rio de Janeiro this Monday (15).
The term works as an umbrella and provides for new and original productions of sound and audiovisual programs, including series, miniseries and other unique works of varying lengths, to be broadcast on radio and TV stations and also to be shown on EBC’s digital platforms.
For the president of EBC, André Basbaum, the company “has a vocation to bring art to the greatest number of people” and its channels “are a place for distributing and amplifying the voices of Brazilian culture.”
“If EBC’s mission is to foster critical thinking, the tool must be culture,” said EBC’s Director of Content and Programming, Antonia Pellegrino.
Partnerships
The director recalls that EBC already has partnerships with the Minc Audiovisual Secretariat, with the National Cinema Agency (Ancine) and with the support of Funarte itself, it produced the series Masters of the Arts, available on the TV Brasil Play platform.
“The idea [da cooperação] is to disseminate music, artistic content, audiovisual production. The strategy is to give a voice to Brazilian artists, especially those registered in our programs”, adds the president of Funarte, Maria Fernandes Marighella.
The partnership between the state-owned company and the MinC agency does not imply the transfer of resources, remuneration for services provided or the assignment of employees. EBC will be able to license and sell programs produced through cooperation in Brazil and abroad.
The signing of the cooperation agreement takes place on the eve of the foundation’s 50th anniversary. This Tuesday (16), the Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, participates in Rio in the reopening of the Technical Arts Center, in Lapa, and the inauguration of the canvas Master Jamelão, the Black Diamond at the Luiz Olimecha National Circus School (ENCLO), in Praça da Bandeira.
