The Cuban couple formed by Damián Gómez and Eblis Veranes lost this Sunday against the Canadians Samuel Shachter and Jonathan Pickett, during the decisive match of the Tour final Norceca 2025 beach volleyballwhich took place in the sands of Juan Dolio, in Dominican Republic.
The second formation of the island sought to register their names among the winners of the 11 stops on the circuit, but was surpassed by the northerners, with scores of 18-21 and 20-22 according to the note published on the Norceca website.

The Cubans suffered their second setback in the tournament against the champions, who had also won 2-0 (21-16 and 21-18) in the particular match corresponding to qualifying group D.
Gómez and Veranes sealed their passage in that segment with a score of 2-1, as they managed to beat the representations of the Virgin Islands and Mexico.
In the quarterfinal phase, another Mexican duo crossed their path, the one made up of Lares and Ayala, whom they beat in three sets with scores of 21-18, 18-21 and 15-12.
That performance opened the doors to the semifinal, in which they found Salvadoran brothers Christopher and Yoel Guardado on the other side of the net, who capitulated with scores of 21-15 and 21-13.
In addition to the good image left in the Dominican resort, Gómez and Veranes secured for Cuba a place in the XXVI Central American and Caribbean Games that will be held next year in Santo Domingo with the participation of 12 couples per gender.
After their performance in Juan Dolio, the young Cuban couple said goodbye to the circuit with four medals, as they had also been second in the stop held in Punta Cana, and added a pair of bronze medals in the Guadalajara and Varadero segments.
