Biden to Announce $800 Million in Ukraine Security Aid

US President Joe Biden will announce $800 million in assistance to Ukraine on Wednesday, a White House official said, the same day the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, he is scheduled to give a speech to US congressmen.

The decision brings “the total (of aid) announced to $1 billion in the last week alone,” the official said on condition of anonymity.

Zelensky he is ready to renew his calls for more aid when he addresses Congress virtually as some lawmakers push the White House to take a tougher line on the Russian invasion.
