SANTO DOMINGO ESTE.– The National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, reported the arrest of a woman and the identification of three known criminals as allegedly responsible for the shooting attack that occurred in the Simonico sector, of Villa Duarte, Santo Domingo Este, in which a 10-year-old boy lost his life and two women were injured by gunshot wounds.
As part of the investigations, Ileana Hanoy de los Santos Balbuena, 38, was arrested by court order, identified as the person who provided the black Kia Sorento Jeep used by the perpetrators to travel before and after the shooting.
The law enforcement institution identified Jorge Alberto Ozuna Marte, alias “Gungún” as fugitives; Gabriel Pérez Gómez, alias “Gaby”, and Albert Ricardo Peña Féliz, alias “La Pipa”, who are considered those allegedly directly responsible for the shooting. The authorities indicated that operations to locate and capture those identified remain active.
The National Police warned that the fugitives are heavily armed and urged them to surrender by any means they consider appropriate to respond to justice for the acts they are accused of.
According to the official report, the attack occurred on the night of December 11, when the attackers got out of the vehicle and fired multiple shots, causing the death of the 10-year-old boy Josué Rodne. Also injured in the incident were María Mercedes Arias Amador, 63, who later died from her injuries, and Marie Benítez Rodne, 47, who remains with gunshot wounds.

The National Police reiterated that it continues to deepen the investigations in coordination with the Public Ministry and once again called on those involved who remain fugitives to surrender to face the corresponding judicial process.
