The Headquarters has announced through its director, Erwin Viruez, that there are batches of vaccines against Covid-19 that are about to expire. Although he did not indicate the quantity or the expiration dateThis Tuesday, the authority encouraged the Santa Cruz population to get immunized. Only 59% of the target population has the first dose, according to the epidemiological report of Monday the 14th.
In order that soon-to-expire doses are not wasted, these were redistributed in the city and the provinces, in an attempt to optimize them. Viruez also did not detail the name of the vaccines in question.
The large stock of vaccines, to which Headquarters refers, is distributed at all immunization points so that they can be applied to all who require them, including the fourth dose, as recently ordered by the Ministry of Health.
Some of the points are installed in educational units of the city to facilitate the vaccination of students. This Wednesday 16 will be enabled two points, in the educational units Enrique Aponte and Spain, while on Thursday the 17th, at the Cástulo Chávez and Pampa de la Isla schools; on Friday 18, in the educational units of Spain and Luz y Saber, as indicated by the municipality of Santa Cruz. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
According to the Mayor’s Office of Health, since the medical brigades began to vaccinate in schools, 5,520 have been immunized people, the majority (2,650) from municipal district 8.
