At least 14,651 candidates who declared themselves black in the second edition of the Unified National Public Competition (CPNU 2) need to participate, this weekend (13th and 14th), in the confirmation stage of affirmative actions. The procedure will be carried out in 224 Brazilian municipalities.
The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) provided a list of locations to carry out the procedure (check it out here).
The competition organization emphasizes that you summoned cannot miss or refuse to participate in any stage – including filming and biometrics. If there is no confirmation, the candidate loses the right to the reserved place. In these cases, the person will only remain in the broad competition, as long as they have a sufficient score.
This Saturday, in the morning, the gates opened at 7am and closed at 7:45am, with activities starting at 8am. In the afternoon, it opens at 1pm, closes at 1:45pm, and starts at 2pm. On Sunday, candidates will have to observe the same hours as on Saturday.
Verification
As the government explains, verification is exclusively phenotypic and is conducted by a committee made up of five members, with diversity of gender, color and, whenever possible, regional origin. The stage includes photo and video recording, in addition to biometric collection.
The complementary confirmation to the self-declaration is in person and will take place in the same city chosen by the candidate to take the tests. The step is provided for in the legislation that regulates affirmative actions in the federal public service.
In this second edition of the unified competition, the percentage of places reserved for black people was increased to 25% and quotas were created for indigenous people (3%) and quilombolas (2%). The reservation for people with disabilities remains at 5%, as per the Law No. 8,112/1990.
