PLD supporters defend their consultations on pre-candidates

He considered that all the political parties, including the official one, the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), have already chosen their presidential candidates, because President Luis Abinader has been campaigning since he took office.

He assured that the PLD It will carry out its consultation process within the framework of the democratic and legal system, thus contributing to party strengthening.

Also, he was very optimistic because three women and three men aspire to be candidates for the presidency of the purple party, which, in his opinion, shows how strong that political organization is.

The presidential candidates of the PLD They are Maritza Hernández, Karen Ricardo, Margarita Cedeño, Abel Martínez, Francisco Domínguez Brito and Luis de León.

While the PLD deputy Gaddis Corporán also defended the consultation that his party will carry out and explained that it is a kind of plebiscite for people to express themselves and decide who will be the most suitable presidential candidate.

Through a statement, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) indicated that the consultation process scheduled for the PLD the next month of October is not an act that is authorized by any of the laws that govern the Dominican electoral system.

It also specified that the electoral body established that this activity would be carried out outside the periods established by Law 33-18 on Political Parties, Groups and Movements and Law 15-19 on the Electoral Regime.
