The mother of a newborn who was urgently transferred from Barinitas to the “Dr. Samuel Darío Maldonado” maternal and child hospital. of this city, is at the disposal of the Ninth Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of the state of Barinas.
The woman, 35 years old and a resident of Agua Dulce de Barinitas, was placed under the orders of the authorities after the baby, provisionally baptized as Bárbara, was supposedly found on the soccer field in the capital of the Bolívar municipality last Monday.
Hospitalized after “domestic procedure”
Sources from the maternal and child hospital indicated that the mother, who also has other children, is currently hospitalized. She underwent uterine curettage, a procedure necessary to remove tissue from the inner lining of the uterus. This would have been required due to a “domestic procedure” that the woman performed on herself last weekend when giving birth to the girl inside her own home, presumably assisted by a son and a family member.
He confessed to giving birth, but denies abandonment
Sources assured the Diary of Los Llanos Barinas that the woman would have confessed her action. However, he allegedly claimed that at no time did he “abandon” to his daughter on the sports field, contradicting the first unofficial versions that circulated.
According to the version that the mother would have offered, at the time of delivery she gave the newborn to a relative. This relative apparently went to a protection agency to hand the baby over to a worker, who would have immediately taken her to the “Nuestra Señora del Carmen” hospital in Barinitas. From there, the girl was later transferred to the health center in the capital city.
Officials from various investigation and child and adolescent protection entities are working to clarify all the details of this case that has shocked the Barinese community.
