As for 2026, he wanted to highlight four great moments, starting with the Spanish Super Cup in Arabia in the first days of January. The next will be in March, when he confirmed that the very final between Spain and Argentina as champions of the last Euro Cup and Copa América. The big event will be the Copa del Rey final, whose date is not yet known as it cannot be played on April 25 because the April Fair is held in Seville: “It will not be in the final of the Fair because we believe it is not appropriate. Some have criticized them but you should know that when we created the calendar with LaLiga in June, we have put out a public list: Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Seville and Bilbao. And we didn’t know what city it was going to be. In the end “It was Sevilla and we are delighted. Just one fact: the previous contract for the final was close to 700,000 euros. This year only the final, the fee, will be paid three and a half million.”
Praise for Luis de la Fuente
Rafael Louzán announced that the most likely date is April 18 and that it will be known shortly: “We are accommodating the date of the final to the best possible date. We hope in a reasonable time we can tell you something.” The fourth big event will be the World Cup next summer and about which the federation president announced that they are closing expensive friendly matches: “We are closing some games, not many, because after a long fan season, pause and rest are very important. Probably before the World Cup there will be two games, one in Spain and the other will have to be held in the place where the World Cup is going to be held.”
A quote for which Rafael Louzán showed his moderate optimism: “We have to be moderately optimistic with this team. The coach, a true person if ever there was one, makes things a lot easier for us but knows that they will not lack anything. They will have everything that makes it easier for them to concentrate.”
Rafael Louzán ended up highlighting the record budget that he will present at the Assembly next Monday, exceeding 400 million in addition to highlighting the growth in sponsorship income where “they will reach 90 million, 40s% more in sponsorship” and also a growth in “audiovisual rights by 10% in line with the League.”
