Santo Domingo.— The hearing of coercive measures for the alleged millionaire embezzlement of more than RD$15 million in the ARS National Health Insurance (Senasa) took a crucial turn this Thursday, after the first three defendants who appeared before the judge Rigoberto Senawho is aware of the coercive measure, admitted part of the facts attributed to them and, in addition, held the former director of state insurance directly responsible, Santiago Hazim.
The plaintiff lawyers Martín Rubiera and Miguel Surun Hernández confirmed that Eduardo Read Estrella, Cinty Acosta Sención and Heidi Mariela Pineda Perdomo They acknowledged before the court that they had participated in the scheme indicated by the Public Ministry and assured that their actions were carried out under instructions or in favor of the former official.
Rubiera explained that the three defendants agreed to admit that they delivered “values and money” for the benefit of Hazim as part of the investigated scheme.

The hearing continues this Thursday with the presentation of more defendants and the arguments of the accusing body.
According to the plaintiff lawyers, the statements of these first three defendants could redefine the course of the case and strengthen the request for more severe coercive measures.
