Rodríguez Ortiz is identified as a priority target and financial operator of ”Los Cabrera”.
The criminal cell is linked to extortion of merchants and ranchers in La Laguna.
The arrests are part of the National Strategy against Extortion.
The Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) today froze the bank accounts of Edgar Rodríguez Ortiz, “El Limones”, as well as people linked to his close circle.
This action is part of a series of investigations coordinated by the Security Cabinet of the federal government, focused on dismantling the criminal structure of “El Limones.”
In a coordinated operation between various security institutions, ”El Limones” was arrested on Wednesday.
The operation was carried out by the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the National Guard.
Collaboration with the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) made it possible to identify irregular operations by Edgar “N”, related to fraud and money laundering.
During the operations, five long weapons, one short weapon and tactical equipment were seized.
