Five years ago he arrived at the door of the Chinchiná hospital accompanying his human, who had been admitted for an emergency, but did not come out alive and Marcos never left the place. A Colombian Hachiko.
Caldas News.
Marcos arrived chasing the ambulance that was taking his human companion in 2017 to the Chinchiná Hospital, Caldas, and from there he never moved again, he became the darling of the medical center and the community, and on election weekend, they found him lifeless.
The dog never got used to being indoors, locked up.
“Sometimes it is better to give them the freedom with which they are happy,” said those who knew him at that time.
He always stayed around the hospital, and people understood “his freedom” and that he was waiting for his partner.
That is why in Chinchiná they took care of him, protected him and fed him.
From bathing him, purging him, to taking him to his veterinary controls. The community was even asked not to give him certain foods that could affect his health, and of course to take care of him from anyone who tried to attack him.
His godmother was Estefanía García.
He became a celebrity in Chinchiná, so even the tourists wanted to go and meet the Colombian Hachiko, or better said, Caldense.
From Chinchiná they report that he had several tumors, he was sick. He already walked fewer distances, rested more.
Finally on the weekend, they found him in a hilly area, lifeless. He had no injuries, no wounds.
He looked for a solitary place, to rest.
Little was known about his human companion, some reported having seen them walking through the town before hospitalization.
If it is true that “pet heaven” exists or if it is the same rainbow, Marcos is already there and if they allow the entry of human souls, they will finally meet there.
This is how his story was known in 2019:
This is the story of the Colombian ‘Hachiko’ that moves Caldas. Since 2017, Marcos has been waiting for his owner, apparently dead?, at the door of the Chinchiná hospital. Looking at the horizon as if waiting for a miracle, this dog has aroused the interest of the inhabitants. pic.twitter.com/kF66MzSkoI
