Former congressman Luis Roel Alva asked the National Election Jury (JNE) to rule, before December 15 – the scheduled date for the proclamation of the results of the primary elections – on the complaints of alleged irregularities in the process of electing delegates in Popular Action (AP).
In statements to Peru21the constitutional lawyer asked the highest electoral body to provide a solution to the impasse that has occurred in the framework of the internal elections of the Lampa party where, he maintained, the impersonation of the delegates who were elected on Sunday, November 30, has been detected, which is why — as he indicated — they could not vote on Sunday the 7th.
According to Roel, the president of the National Electoral Committee of AP Cinthia Pajuelo Chávez would not have respected the election of delegates in districts such as San Borja.
He stated that his brother Alonso Javier Roel Alva was elected delegate in said jurisdiction; However, he said, he was replaced by Augusto Alberto Donaire Paiva.
“There is clear evidence of alleged fraud, which is why we ask for the intervention of the authorities of the Electoral System, the Public Ministry and even the party leadership,” he added, after maintaining that the list of delegates eligible to vote in last Sunday’s elections was registered only by Pajuelo and without the participation of the other two members of the National Electoral Committee.
“None of the delegates elected by San Borja appear on the list nor were they recognized. Given this situation, a criminal complaint has already been filed with the Public Ministry as well as an appeal before the National Elections Jury and a complaint with the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), which was notified of this situation on Friday, December 5, before the election by the delegates, but did not intervene,” he reported.
At another time, he stated that the same thing would have happened in the regions of Cusco, Huancavelica, Ancash, Cajamarca, Loreto, Tacna, as well as in Lima provinces, Lima Norte, Lima Centro, Lima Oeste and Lima Este.
