Two people died and 49 were rescued after the shipwreck of the motor ship “Mi Consentía” between Turbo and Acandí.
The authorities of Urabá Antioquia confirmed the shipwreck that covered the route between the municipality of Turbo and Acandí, in the department of Chocó. The tourist motorboat identified as “My Consent” It was transporting 51 people when it apparently collided with a wooden log that was floating along the way.
What do the authorities say?
According to emergency agencies, 49 occupants were rescued alivewhile two people diedamong them a 4-year-old girl and a woman identified as Cenaida Palacios. The victims were found after search efforts were activated.
The emergency mobilized units of the National Navy, which deployed divers to locate the missing people. However, it was a civilian vessel that reported the discovery of the bodies, which were accompanied to a dock by the Coast Guard Unit, where the National Police carried out the judicial inspection.
Colonel Fernando Montaña, commander in charge of the Police in the region, assured that they are investigating whether the people who were on board the boat did not have the security elements.

They investigate causes of the accident
For its part, the Mayor’s Office of Acandí (Chocó) issued a statement in which it regretted the accident and offered support to the affected families.
“Today the municipality of Acandí is in mourning. We join the mourning of their families and loved ones, accompanying them with our hearts and raising our prayers,” said the municipal administration.

In addition, they indicated that “we express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and our solidarity with the survivors in this difficult moment. We appreciate the work of the fishermen, boatmen and authorities who participated in the rescue, in addition to the accompaniment and support to our lamplighters in the face of this unfortunate situation.”
