The Governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendónand the Mayor of Rionegro, Jorge Rivasalong with staff from the Dagran and the Municipal Risk Management Office, carried out a joint tour to consolidate a updated diagnosis of the effects.
As part of the visit, Governor Rendón announced the comprehensive support for affected families, focused on long term relocation and the mitigation of future risks.
The measures announced include the immediate assistanceguaranteeing rental subsidies for families requiring temporary relocation; the definitive housing solutionwith the relocation management in the housing project of Myrtleswhich projects more than a thousand units; and finally, the risk mitigationthrough accompaniment in the technical assistance and the required studies so that the municipality can carry out the necessary works in the critical points of the stream.
Additionally, the Government of Antioquia delivered humanitarian aid in the area to meet the basic needs of the victims.
For its part, the Municipal Risk Management Office reported that they maintain a permanent monitoring in eight critical points identified as the most impacted.
Surveillance is carried out through CMC (Monitoring and Control Center), in constant communication with the Rionegro Fire Department, with the aim of controlling the levels of the water sources and prevent new eventualities.
