“Saying goodbye is never easy. “It ends a stage that began full of enthusiasm in February and that has allowed me to discover a country, a city, a football… and that has left me with many new experiences and, above all, many friends,” Ramos said on his personal X account a day after making public his departure from Mexican soccer and the end of his career in Monterrey, where he has been for just under a year.
“I will always feel proud to have worn the Rayados captain’s armband, to have led the team in the first Club World Cup in its new format, to have battled in the Clausura, the Apertura, the Leagues Cup, the Concacaf Champions Cup… and to have bravely defended the Steel Giant by your side in all the games we have played at home,” the world champion with Spain in 2010 said in his message.
Ramos highlighted his dedication on the pitch. “I have left everything on the field and off it to be able to give my best performance. 34 games, more than 3,000 minutes, 8 goals and so many emotions that cannot be described in numbers,” stands out.
