The 1st Trial Court in Matters of Violence against Women of Apure decreed a sentence consisting of 22 years and 6 months in prison for José Luis Anuel Herrera (53) for committing sexual violence against his 11-year-old neighbor, the Prosecutor’s Office reported.
This event occurred on November 7, 2023 in the Airport sector of the Mantecal parish, Muñoz municipality of Apure state. At night that day, Anuel Herrera took advantage of the parent’s absence, entered the home and went to the girl’s room, who was sleeping at that time. Immediately, he began to choke her until she was unconscious, touched her private parts and took the opportunity there to commit the abuse.
Once the victim regained consciousness, she informed her mother and aunt what had happened. Consequently, the mother’s sister approached the nearest headquarters of the Bolivarian National Guard in Mantecal to file a complaint.
Immediately, a commission was formed that carried out the arrest of Anuel Herrera a few hours later to leave him under the command of the Public Ministry. During the trial, the 5th Prosecutor’s Office of Apure ratified the accusation against the aggressor for the commission of aggravated sexual violence with a particularly vulnerable victim and continued threat.
Once the evidence was removed, the aforementioned court ruled against the accused and ordered his confinement in the Mantecal GNB Campaign Command.
